Watch Our Video: Reducing Mosquitoes with In2Care Traps

Nobody likes mosquitoes. They’re kind of the worst, aren’t they? Besides the annoying, itchy bites, they can also carry diseases like Dengue and Zika.

But toxic sprays and fogs that can harm pollinators – or your pets! – aren’t worth the risk. We started our Repel business a few years ago to offer an alternative to traditional treatments, offering safer alternatives that keep mosquitoes, ticks, and even deer at bay.

For the 2025 season, we’re excited to offer In2Care Mosquito Traps. They’re a truly innovative way to control the mosquito population on your property – safely and effectively.

Why we chose In2Care.

You know Connecticut Green well enough to know that we’re very selective about the products we offer you. We’re definitely not about the “shiny objects!” If we’re going to offer a new solution to you, it will be one we can stand behind — something new, unique, and that we’re confident will bring you the results you expect.

And that’s we’ve found with In2Care. Unlike traditional sprays or fogging, which can damage the ecosystem and kill pollinators, In2Care traps take a smarter, longer-term approach to mosquito control. The traps lure in female mosquitoes searching for a place to lay eggs — and this is where the innovation comes in: They turn the mosquitoes against themselves. By spreading a biological agent to other breeding sites (like puddles and ponds), the traps ensure that larvae don’t survive, effectively breaking the mosquito’s lifecycle.

Yes, it takes a bit longer to see results compared to sprays, but the payoff is worth it. These traps are low-maintenance, cost-effective, and safe for people, pets, and the environment—they’re actually EPA-approved.

How does it work?

It’s actually pretty brilliant. Each In2Care trap contains an EPA-approved, slow-acting biological control agent that’s safe for non-target organisms — meaning, it’s safe for anything that isn’t a mosquito, including bees and butterflies. Here’s what sets these traps apart:

  • Attraction and containment: Female mosquitoes enter the trap to lay eggs and are exposed to ta larvacide.
  • Spread and control: The exposed mosquito spreads the larvacide to other breeding areas, amplifying the trap’s impact.
  • Ongoing Protection: Simple monthly maintenance ensures ongoing reduction of your property’s mosquito population.

Does it really work? Yup. We tested it.

We tested the traps and the results were clear: they work. The videos below show the traps filled with larvae — a testament to their effectiveness. While no solution can eliminate every mosquito, the In2Care system dramatically reduces mosquito populations and the risk of mosquito-borne illnesses.
